CERAMIDES
Ceramides are lipids naturally present in the skin and comprise around 40-50% of of our skin's natural barrier. These sphingolipids act like "lipid cement" by filling the spaces between epidermal cells and reinforcing cell cohesion to maximise the skin's protective function. A healthy skin barrier is essential to protect our skin against external aggressors (pollution, dust mites, exposure to UV rays and visible light) and limit water loss.
